After many years experience in the geotechnical and geo-environmnetal industries Tim Ball established DataFlex Solutions to provide IT and data management services across the business spectrum. The geotechnical industry is relatively unusual because it generates very large complex data sets which require complex analysis. Historically it has also suffered from a lack of investment in data management systems leaving companies to either struggle along with products that can be bought off the shelf or write their own in-house routines from scratch.
DataFlex believes that this results in frequently poor data utilisation and huge inefficiencies, particularly on projects where there are many different data providers. Our objective is to help companies to set-up and run their own cost effective data management systems so that they can operate efficiently. Tim Ball is a Personal Member of the AGS, and has been involved with development of their Data Transfer Format.
Experience has shown us that problems of Data Management are not confined to the Geotechnical industry but apply across the board. We have many years experience with integrating technical and administrative functions using IT in a variety of regulatory frameworks.
